Why this walk

Why pay for a walking tour when you can walk Tromsø for free?

Because walking the streets is the easy part. You can Google the dates. We want you to remember the stories.

  • No guidebook recitals

Our guides know their facts and don't recite them. Expect stories told like a conversation, not a memorised script.

  • Every guide has their own voice

Each guide tells Tromsø their own way, with stories and observations from their own experience of the city. We don't iron the personality out.

  • Reliable where it counts

Practical information and history are accurate and consistent on every walk. The personality is in how the story is told.

  • Max 10 guests

Small enough to ask questions, wander off topic and actually talk.

“We never let the truth come in between us and a good story.”
Our storytelling philosophy, said with a wink.

The founder

Meet Kristoffer

Kristoffer founded Tromsø Arctic Run because he wanted visitors to experience the city through stories, humour and conversation rather than a memorised sightseeing script.

He still guides some of the walks, but Tromsø Arctic Run is built around a small team of guides. Each brings their own personality, and all follow the same standards for quality and storytelling.
